Cross Country Canada regretfully announces the death of one its very dedicated sport builders. Heinz Niederhauser died suddenly while skiing at Duntroon on January 5th, he was there doing what he loved to do: coaching young athletes in the finer points of XC ski racing. Heinz spent his past 35 years as a passionate contributor to coaching and athlete development at all levels of our sport. He was a builder of clubs, the key developer of the Ontario Team, a valued mentor to a strong Coaching community and a leader in Canada’s National Ski Team program.

Keith Nicol has created some popular new x-country ski videos for the YouTube market. So far there has been good response on his free skate video and diagonal stride without poles video. Both videos are 3 minutes long so are quick and easy to view. The videos are top ranked so are easy to find. Keith plans on adding more YouTube content shortly. Keith Nicol (CANSI X-C Level IV - Tele Level III) teaches Winter Outdoor Pursuits at Sir Wilfred Grenfell College in Corner Brook and runs CANSI courses in Atlantic Canada.
